The Missions pledge formulated by Gurudev gives us guidelines to live our lives and places a high importance on Service. Sanatana Dharma bequeathed to us by our Rishis lists “Nri Yagna”(Service to Humanity) as one of the five Mahayagnas (Essential Duties) to be performed by human beings.
Chinmaya Mission Mulund has been contributing to Social Service activities besides its core activity of making available the Upanishadic Knowledge to all irrespective of caste, creed or gender. Few of them are listed below.
Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth
Supporting Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth(CVV) in Kerala which has been set up to spread the Indian Knowledge Traditions along with the regular Secular Knowledge Courses. Click here to know more about CVV.
Education
Financial aid for setting up a Computer Lab in a School managed by Vidyadhiraja Trust serving children from the economically backward strata in Bhandup, Mumbai.
Others
Financial aid for Nepal earthquake of 2015, Flood Disaster Relief in Kerala in 2018 etc. Supporting other Trusts like Vatsalya Trust Mumbai etc.
Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD)
CORD has been helping rural communities create programs & adopt practices for holistic welfare, facilitating participatory, integrated and sustainable development for underprivileged communities in 700 villages in various parts of India. CORD has a reach spanning half million villagers in the four states of Himachal Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. More information is available on cordindia.in
